As we embark on a significant IT transformation, we are looking for a talented IT Project Manager to oversee IT projects, infrastructure management, and ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of key business applications, including our CRM and website.

We are seeking an IT Project Manager to lead and enhance our IT infrastructure, database systems, and internal CRM. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and strategic project management, ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our IT landscape.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the company’s IT direction, work with third-party service providers and developers, and ensure our technology supports the business effectively. The role itself would be based at our offices in Redditch in the short to medium term, however there may be a possibility of some hybrid working options in the longer term.

Role Overview

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing IT projects, infrastructure management, and ensuring the ongoing development and maintenance of key business applications, including our CRM and website. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead IT projects focused on continuous development and improvements to the company’s CRM, website, and database systems.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with management, internal teams, third-party service providers, and developers to implement and manage IT solutions effectively.
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Cloud Server Management: Manage and support our cloud based servers.
  • Database Management: Maintain and optimise a large MySQL database, developing a deep understanding of data structures, table relationships, and the data’s usage within the business.
  • Data Integrity & Security: Ensure data integrity is upheld, implementing robust backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Third-Party Data Integration: Manage and oversee data updates from third-party providers, ensuring seamless integration and reliability.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor an IT apprentice or trainee, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain internal IT documentation, disaster recovery plans, and ensure adherence to IT best practices and security standards.
  • User Support & IT Operations: Ensure all workstations, systems, and IT resources are functioning efficiently, enabling employees to perform their roles effectively.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong experience working with large databases, particularly MySQL.
  • Proficiency in working with APIs for system integrations and automation.
  • Basic PHP knowledge is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience with managing cloud based server solutions.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace administration.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity best practices, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Leadership skills, with experience mentoring or managing team members preferred.
